Think music videos. Think TV commercials. Think Winona Ryder floating up to the ceiling singing 'Shake Senora' in Beatlejuice. Now mix them and remix them. Scratch them like a DJ scratching samples. This is taking DJing to another level. This is live mixed electronic music you can watch. This is entertainment which suits a short attention span. This is an evening of visual addiction. This is Sampology. Sampology is Australian which means you're just as likely to see samples from Summer Heights High as you are a Michael Jackson film clip. You're going to understand the cultural references. You're going to see scenes you've all but forgotten from childhood tv series like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. They'll be mixed in with music you can breakdance to. Even Peaches said that Sampology makes her want to breakdance! Peaches!!! Sampology will change the way you think about DJs. He's coming to the Northern, Friday 21st May. You can win a double pass by telling us your most favourite movie scene to dance to. Email your response to kate@getout.net.au by Thursday 20th. You've gotta be 18+ to enter and will need to show ID at the door. Winners are chosen at random and notified by email. Please include your mobile number if you'd like to be notified by SMS. Good luck!
