What do Solid Gold and Halloween have in common? Well, they're both an opportunity to dress in costume. And they both happen on October 31 at the Hotel Great Northern. For the uninitiated, Solid Gold is a retro night with a cult local following. DJs Gopher Gold and Rock Hardson make Solid Gold a special night for everyone; little tricks and treats are planned throughout the evening.

With a line up including Bloc Party, Janes Addiction, MGMT, and Hilltop Hoods, it's no wonder Splendour 09 sold out in only 75 minutes. I cannot tell you how excited Get Out is to be giving this double pass away. Ooohhh yes.
So without further ado... the winner is chosen at random, the more entries you have, the better your chances are. There are four ways to enter:

1. Flick an email here with your name as it appears on your ID, with the subject line "I am splendid".
2. Crackbookers, add the Facebook fan page, be sure to post "I am splendid and new around here" on the wall.
3. Myfacers, send a friend request to our Myspace page, with your real name and the message "I am splendid".
4. Get your friends to add the Facebook or Myspace page, and post up the message "I am (their name) and I'm new around here. My mate, (your name) is splendid." That means an entry for your friend, and another entry for you.

Competition closes Thursday July 2, so get your skates on.

The small print: Prize is two general entry tickets to Splendour in the Grass. Accommodation and travel is not included. Splendour is an MA rated event, any ticket holders under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. BlackTop Circus Presents: A Gypsy Cabaret - featuring performances from members of Spaghetti Circus, Circus Arts, Belgium's Ell Circo Dell Fuego and BlackTop Circus. So you can expect to see flexible people doing things with their bodies that you only wish you could. There's also burlesque, maybe some comedy... BlackTop've been a bit coy with their description of what to expect this time, but you can read a review of their last performance.
