The Darky Roots bio modestly states that 'None of us are super flash on our instruments, the uniqueness of us is born when we all come together as one'. It's a refreshing attitude compared to the talent-bragging usually written in band biographies. Darky Roots openly admit they've not been around long (2 years) and their raison d'etre was a charitable fundraiser. From those humble beginnings DR have supported or played with a who's who list of Oz Reggae favourites including the Upsteppers, Dubmarine, Kingfisha, Paua, Georgia Potter, and Byron's own Fyah Walk. They've shared the stage with internationals like Tahuna Breaks, Salmonella Dub sound system, and the Original Wailers. Their 2010 tour sees Darky Roots booked to play with the Red Eyes, Cornerstone Roots, Kooii and Lion I, but you can catch them tonight at the Beachie. This video was filmed at last years Island Vibe festival, check it out.
